■ The Children’s Haven: The Children’s Haven exists to promote the health and happiness of children impacted by abuse. ■ The Cobb County Safety Village Foundation: The Cobb County Safety Village Foundation works to build safer communities through advocacy and education. ■ Twin Cedars Youth and Family Services: The agency provides safe housing for children and teens via foster care homes and the three residential homes. Wellstar Foundation In the 2022 CHNA Implementation Plan, Wellstar committed to increasing investments from the philanthropic community that support equitable child health.

Wellstar Foundation leveraged relationships that align with an interest in child health for the purpose of philanthropy, and brought awareness and funding for child health by focusing on Wellstar Pediatrics and our new partnership with the Children’s Hospital of Georgia.

$2,225,000+ in Wellstar Foundation investments to support pediatrics from FY2022 to FY2024.

$225,000 to Cobb and Douglas Public Health “Babies Born Healthy” program

$1 million raised through the Wellstar Foundation Gala

$1 million received from the Callaway Foundation

SUCCESS STORY: In November 2022, with the support of philanthropy and partners through the Literacy and Justice for All initiative, Wellstar launched Small TALK at 13 of its pediatric offices in Cobb County. In February 2024, Small TALK received a $1.1 million donation from the Callaway Foundation to expand to OB/GYN and pediatric offices in West Georgia and Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center’s Mother- Baby Unit and NICU in LaGrange. community partnerships to help build a bridge and close gaps in healthcare and education. The Small TALK team attends community events with Marietta City Schools and Cobb Collaborative, among others. Wellstar is building a literacy ecosystem representing healthcare’s involvement in the broader literacy space.
