“Over the past 10 years, Mandy has brilliantly husbanded our costumes,’’ says David Chambers. ‘’For this production, she chose a monochromatic colour scheme of black, grey and sepia, with incredible flashes of red for the pirates. Colouration has a huge effect on the impact and look of the play and, as usual, Mandy delivered exactly what we wanted.’’ This production was an opportunity for the 2016 Year 9 (now Year 10) boys to test themselves and, through the theatricality, awaken their interest in drama and develop confidence in performance. “As with all our productions, we found a pathway through,’’ says Robyn Peers. “At some stage, things may have seemed a bit chaotic to the boys, but we knew what we were doing, and believed, in the end, it would be all right on the night. And it was.’’

“The OBTwas a perfect place to stage the production as it has a large screen at the back of the stage andwe found strong images to indicate a sense of place.” RobynPeers
