to take pay for his ministry? 4. How does Paul show that he would have been justified to expect and to receive financial compensation for his ministry? (w . 7-14.) 5. Why did Paul not use this priv ilege? (w . 15-18.) 6. How is Paul’s love for the souls of men evidenced by his writing in verses 19-23? 7. What incentive does Paul give for the exercise of self-discipline on the part of the believer? (w . 24-27.) A Warning 1. How does Paul warn against false security and carelessness of liv ing? (10:1-12.) Does identity with the people of God guarantee freedom from obedience or from judgment? 2. Are there some temptations that it is impossible for a believer to have victory over? (v. 13.) 3. What subject does Paul deal with in verses 16-22? Is there danger of idolatry on the part of Christians today? How does this passage teach separation? 4. In the matter of eating things sacrificed to idols, a subject dealt with in chapters 8-10, what is the great ruling principle? (w . 24,31, 32.) 5. What startling invitation does Paul give in 11:1? 6. How could he dare make such an invitation? (v. lb .) Christian Order and the Lord’s Supper 1. Why is it not becoming for a woman to take part in public wor ship with her head uncovered? (11: 3.) What does covering her head in worship indicate? (v. 7a.) 2. How does nature itself indicate that it is right for a woman to be veiled in public worship? (w . 14, i5.) 3. How does Paul indicate that the Corinthian women were out of line in appearing in their churches un veiled? (v. 16.) 4. In the Apostle’s day it was a breach of social etiquette for a wom an to appear in public unveiled. To do so indicated that she refused to acknowledge her natural subordina tion to man, and for a Christian woman to do so would also indicate her lack of subordination to God. In this day when social customs have changed, the details of this Scripture may not apply but the principle of womanly subjection to men is still good. (To be continued next month.)
