two Bible classes, was fast becoming a Bible stud en t of unusual discernment. The young man- was called by bus iness to a d istan t eastern city, bu t before going was led to a definite acceptance of Christ as his Saviour, and guided by his friend, became deeply in terested in th e Bible. Some tim e afte r his arriv al in the east, a le tte r was received containing ac counts of some in teresting books which had been given him to read ; “ all about th e Bible,” he said; and his friend, alert to the devices of the enemy, and anx ious lest he be led astray, w rote a t once asking to be given the title of th e books, au th o r’s name, publishers, etc. She soon learned her friend was reading th e “M illenial Dawn” series. H er own knowledge of the Word, combined w ith h er rare tact and sym pathy enabled her to show him his dan ger, and set him again on the safe path. W ith eyes opened now to discrim inate between the false and the true, he de sires to be used himself to lead others to seek ligh t and tru th in God’s Word alone. A W ide Awake Church Member A young m arried woman was having lunch one Sunday a t noon in th e cafe teria of th e Bible In stitu te. Seated at th e same table was a lady,' a member of th e Church of the Open Door. Stand ing in line Was pne of th e Bible Women. The Church member introduced the young m arried woman to th e Bible woman and gave th e worker a look which plainly said th a t the woman need ed help. The w orker retu rn ed w ith her tray and while eating her lünch got into conversation w ith the young woman. The woman was feeling very lonesome as she had had to leave her husband and children in Canada and come to Cal ifornia for her health. The worker sympathized w ith her and directed the conversation to th e things of Christ. The young woman said, referring to the Church member who had introduced them to each other and who had left, “T h at other lady asked me if I was a C h ristian .” It Was evident th a t she was no t, so the worker invited her to spend th e afternoon w ith her. While on her knees in th e w orker’s room she accepted Christ as her personal J3avior, and later, a t th e evening service, publicly acknowl edged Him. Would thç Bible Woman have had the privilege of leading this soul to Christ if the Church member had beeD \ndifferent?

tercession. Some of th e ir petitions are, “F ath e r, help us to ask the colored girls to our class and learn to love them and not th ink of nationality,” “ Bless the family of Jews M artha and I live with, dear Jesus, th a t we m ight live like Thee, so they will come to love T h ee ;” “ Somehow, F ath e r, tu rn th e h ea rt of the girl who said she would ra th e r go to. a show th a n come to our class;” “F ath er, make us all Life R ecruits.” Wall you pray for our work and work ers among th e teen age girls th a t we may he to the praise of His glory? L ifting Another’s Load One of th e many by-products of def inite Bible teaching is to make folks practical in th e ir in terest for o thers’ welfare. We are indeed citizens of a heavenly country, bu t our to u rist feet are treading these dusty roads down here ju s t now and th ere are weary travelers to help. There came into the Bible Women’s Class the other day a lady who was alone and strange in the city, and desperately in need of work. She had not been to church for twenty years. When work was found before supper tim e th a t evening, her h eart warmed tow ard the Lord and she said, “Well, I must th ank H im !!” A t the same class a request for prayer was made th a t an operation m ight be ar ranged in the fam ily of one of th e class members. There were not sufficient funds and yet th e need was imperative. The class had hardly been dismissed when a lady came quietly forward and said, “ I ’ll pay for th a t operation my self!” Again, word came th a t a mis sionary was toiling in Africa and needed a certain kind of a bicycle to conserve her stren g th on th e long roads. Dur ing th e week between the classes an anonymous le tte r came from a Bible class member enclosing more than enough for all the expense, including the freight. These are cases' where the Lord has used one person a t a tim e to answer earnest prayer, bu t frequently th e needs are m et by nickels and dimes from th e hard-earned tith es of those no t so richly endowed w ith th is world’s goods. When people are well ta u g h t in the Word, they are in no need of oyster suppers and bazaars to raise funds, the still small voice of th e Holy Spirit speaks and they have listening ears.. D iscrim inating Between F alse and T rue A young man became interested in a certain young woman, Who was not only a devoted Christian but, as a member of
