Nicholson, who has been holding such wonderful meet­ ings in Ireland and Scotland during the past year, finished a six months’ cam­ paign in Glasgow, Scotland, and then w ent to Portadown, Ireland, for a union service w ith all th e churches of th e city. A le tte r ju st .received from him is as follows: “ I am about closing one of th e finest, old-fashioned revivals I have ever had. This town has a population of about fifteen thousand, and is a large m anufacturing center. We sta rted in the big P resbyterian church seating twelve hundred and were th e re for a fortnight. H undreds were led out into a yielded Spirit-filled, life. The second two weeks we w ent to th e Methodist church, also seating abou t twelve hun­ dred where we were jammed and cram­ med, from fifteen to sixteen hundred people packed in every night, and Mrs. Nicholson tak es th e overflow meeting in another church. “Over one thousand have come out for Christ. L ast Sunday over th ree hun­ dred decided, and on Monday over two hundred. Never a n igh t th a t w.e have less th an a hundred seeking Christ. The w'hole town and countryside is m ightily stirred. OLIVER EVANGELISTIC CAMPAIGN IN VANCOUVER, B. C. Enthusiastic repo rts from many sources reach us concerning th e “United Gospel Campaign” which is being con­ ducted in Vancouver by Dr. F rench E. Oliver, one of th e In stitu te evangelists. This is Dr. Oliver’s second campaign in Vancouver, th e first having been held th ere four years ago a t which tim e he received u rgen t invitations to retu rn . A tabernacle has now been bu ilt for him, seating four thousand people, and hav­ ing accommodations for a choir of two hundred. The campaign will continue for two months. A Vancouver- newspaper, w riting of the opening services, says: “The special attraction of th e service Sunday evening was the announcement th a t Dr. R. A. Torrey, of Torrey and Alexander fame, would preach. Dr. Torrey is Dean of th e Bible In stitu te of Los Angeles, and has achieved world fame as an evangelist and author. He is enroute for China where he will hold Bible conferences among the mission­ aries. “He spoke on the subject ‘The Resur­ rection of Christ’ and proved his ability as a speaker by th e manner in which he drove home his points to a large audience. , “The musical p art of th e service is in good hands and Mr. and Mrs Robert Harkness showed th e ir ability, and Mr. Books’ marvellous banitone made a deep impression. “Dr. Oliver spoke la st n igh t in regular ‘camp-meeting’ style which sent peni­ te n t sinners along th e sawdust tra il to the converts’ bench.
