man John was a cousin to Jesus, and afte r he grew up he was called John the Baptist. Now we too should remember th e words of the angel, for we w ant our bodies to be clean and strong, and they can not be strong if we drink any liquor th a t has alcohol in it, or if we smoke. These things in ju re and weaken our bodies. Alcohol 'is poison and hu rts our brains so we cannot th ink rig h t and quickly. The cigarette is full of deadly poison, and do you know th a t many who are comm itting awful crimes to-day are doing it because th eir brains are so pois oned from tobacco or alcohol th a t they do not realize w hat they are doing, for people who take th is poison into th e ir bodies become un tru th fu l, dishonest, and crim inal in th eir lives. This is a good place for our memory verse. “Abhor th a t which is evil; cleave to th a t which is good.” This verse means have nothing to do w ith anything th a t will h u rt these bodies, and hold on to every th ing th a t will help, us to make them clean and strong, so we can honor Jesus like John th e B ap tist did. d o s in g P ray er.—Dear Lord Jesus, we th ank Thee for our bodies, and we ask Thee to help us to always keep them clean and strong, so we can serve Thee w ith them.
