HE subject of Mnemonics has been for years one of th e most in teresting and helpful of all studies to many students. In •

th e work of developing a system of memory studies for th e Word of God we shall make use of (1) The imagination, or th e faculty of creating from th e memory images or pictures of w hat we have read or seen. We use th e word in its tru e r sense and rem ark th a t it is impossible to "im age” or create a picture of anvthing we have not seen and concerning which we have no knowledge. If th e studen t will take a chapter of the Bible and read it w ith care, creating pictures of what he reads and making the Word a living book, he will be surprised to note how many things he will see th a t the casual reader will miss. (2) The first twenty-five letters of th e alphabet, (om iting “Z” ) instead of the num erals th a t now m ark th e divi sions into chapters. “À” will be th e first chapter of any book of the Bible, “B” the second chapter, “ C” th e th ird chapter etc. Note th a t th e letters “E ,” “J ,” “O,” “T,” and “ Y” are th e fifth chapters or some multiple of five. Be cause of th e ir nearness to one of these le tte rs it is always easy to recall quick ly the numerical position of any letter. F o r instance “ 0 ” is th e fifteenth letter and "N” ju st preceding is the four teenth etc. A few moments of work will make it as easy to locate a chapter by its le tte r as by its num eral and make it possible to begin our work in tellig en t ly. "Q” is th e seventeenth le tte r and ■there are so few words beginning with “ Q” th a t we seek out something quaint or queer in th è chapter and easily re-
