THE K I N G ’ S BUS I NE S S he was lost and is found, and they be gan to be'merry.” Too Much Step-Father Next came Billy. Here was a case of too much step-father, then wanderlust and the departure into the far country; but mother’s prayers had followed him and a thousand pitfalls had been es caped. Billy had tried over and over again to live a Christian life without being born again. He had had it ex plained to him, but never revealed to him, and as the simple Gospel was given to him he kept coming back for more, never asking for help as so many others do, but just listening till the Word took root in his heart. “ For if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thy heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Fred was another hopeful case, for he came over and over again. Strange to say, no one had ever spoken to him directly about receiving Christ, till one day when his hungry, wistful eyes searched the speaker’s face, the speaker abruptly turned from the crowd to speak to him. We found a very open, responsive heart that drank in the Word as “ good news from a far coun try.” No one had ever spoken to him of his soul’s need and it wasn’t long before the tears came rolling down his cheek and presently on bended knee “ He came to Jesus as he was, Weary and worn and sad, He found in Him a resting place And Christ has made him glad.”

dormant in his heart all that time which the Spirit now used. The worm which never dieth stung him to the quick, and faith took hold of the Word to the sav ing of his soul. Forty Years Away From Church Another man assured us he had not entered a church for forty years, nor had he ever looked inside a Bible; yet he passed as a moral man. No bad habits had gripped him and we had every reason to believe he was genu inely sincere. He gratefully accepted a copy of, John’s Gospel, agreeing to read it. In the light of John 7:17 we are assured that the truth will be re vealed to him. In contrast to this man is the one who had been saved over twenty years ago, on a business trip from the Philippines, but whose life has been wasted as far as eternal issues are concerned. A vision of the judgment seat of Christ and nothing but leaves to show for his life was used of God to give him a vision of service. Another striking answer to prayer was that of a business man who had deserted his wife and three beautiful children. There was another woman in the case, and the wife and mother was crushed. We took it to God in prayer, but things grew desperate in the home. Then a visit was made to the man in his office after more prayer. A week passed and the poor little woman returned to say that there was no change. More prayer was offered and on reaching home she discovered that the prodigal had come back. “ For this, my son, was dead and is alive again;
