SECOND COMING OP CHRIST The impossibility of getting rid of it. It is bound up with the doctrine of— Atonement—Heb. 9:28. On the day of atonement, after the sacrifice was offered, the priest went within the veil (presence of God) to make atonement. It was not really made at the altar, but within the veil. The atonement was not called com plete until the priest returned. Christ has gone within the veil (Heb. 7:25) to appear for us. Until He returns we do not reap the full benefits of His atoning work. Reliever’s perfection— 1 Jn. 3:2. The perfecting of our relations to God as sons awaits His coming. Corruptibility overcome— 1 Cor. 15¡BI SS; Col. 3:4; 1 Thess. 4:16-17. She opened her eyes wide and she said, “Why, father will give me the money." And just for half a minute I was si lent as I thought the dear man would buy his own birthday present. And the father loved his little girl for her gift, although he had to pay for it. She had not anything in the world that he had not given her.
