NNPC Annual Quality Account 2022-2023 Final v1

We are aware that many of our services do have regular meetings and would encourage those members of staff who think this area could be improved to raise this with their manager.

Almost 90% of them said that the people they work with are understanding and kind and that they treat each other with politeness and respect.

We want to promote and maintain a caring supportive work environment where behaviours to each other are respectful and rewarding, so this result is good to hear.

Questions about their manager(s)

About 80% of the staff were happy with the quality of feedback they receive. However, just less than a third of them were happy with the frequency of that feedback and the response they receive to issues and concerns you raise. It looks like some of our managers could do better regarding how often the staff receive feedback and the quality of the responses they receive to the issues and concerns which they raise need improvement. We will discuss this with Line Managers over the next couple of weeks and identify any areas of development which might help these responses improve.

Questions about their health, well-being, and safety at work

Between 76% and 65% of the staff felt that the organisation takes positive action about their health and well-being and feel that their work-life balance is valued.

However, nearly a third of them felt burnt out because of their work, although only 9% had reported feeling unwell as a result of work-related stress.

We understand that from time-to-time work is difficult and we can feel drained and unable to cope. We encourage to the staff to talk about this with their managers and seek the help they need. Taking leave spaced regularly throughout the year help to prevent burn out. With regard to respecting individual differences and acting fairly with regard to career progression regardless of ethnic background, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability or age, over 80% of the staff responded positively.

We recognise that everyone in our organisation has a part to play in our success and are pleased that many of them feel that they are treated fairly when it comes to development opportunities.

Questions about their personal development

90% of the staff have received an appraisal in the last 12 months and just over 80% of them are happy with the level of training they receive to do their role.

Just over 2 thirds of the staff are happy with the E-Learning they receive for Information Governance training. We asked this question as organisations are required by the ICO framework to assess the effectiveness of IG training.
