Whether it's your first time or it's been a while, visiting the MoPOP should be at the top of your list! Starting outside with the uniquely shaped building, an ultra-modern Frank Gehry- designed building resembling a smashed guitar, to the wide variety of items featured throughout the twelve (12) galleries, and artifacts relating to all branches of pop culture, the museum encourages you to see, hear, and play. After the museum head to the Seattle Center Armory for a bite to eat. Trip includes admission and escort. Lunch is on your own. Must register by 1/30. The Discovery Snowshoe Walk, hosted by the Snoqualmie Pass Snowshoe program, takes about two hours and will cover two miles of rolling terrain and wind through rich old-growth forests. Be on the lookout for signs of wildlife, like Snowshoe Hare tracks or birds in the canopy of trees. This moderately-paced walk will immerse your senses in the wonder of winter in the mountains! After snowshoeing, we'll stop by The Commonwealth restaurant at Snoqualmie Pass for lunch. The trip includes snowshoe rental, Ranger guide, escort, and transportation. Lunch is on your own. Participants should dress in layers and a waterproof outer layer is highly recommended. Set off on the Skagit River in a heated boat for an eight-mile float through a Bald Eagle sanctuary. The Skagit is home to the largest concentration of eagles in the lower 48 states. During the peak of migration, it is common to see 100-200 birds as you float downriver. During the tour, an experienced guide will give you information about the eagles, salmon runs, and the intricate roles they play on this beautiful Skagit River with majestic snow-capped mountains, lush evergreen trees, and abundant wildlife.
