MEETING #2- RECOMMENDATIONS AND IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGY OPEN HOUSE Public Meeting #2 was held on September 9th, 2021. This meeting was held as an open house format at the grounds of the DuBois Campus. The intent of the meeting was to receive feedback on draft recommendations. MEETING AGENDA Open house participants were given an overview of the Northeast Community plan update process, existing conditions and recommendations to date. Several exhibit boards were displayed - they ranged from land use, connectivity, market and demographics to themed recommendations, a future land use map and a concept for the DuBois Campus. Attendees had the option to view the exhibits and discuss their thoughts with project team members as well as share feedback via post-it notes on the exhibits.

Affordability • Preserve affordability and Naturally- Occurring Affordable Housing (NOAH).
A brief survey was also distributed during meeting’s on-site registration process. This survey was available to all on the project website. The meeting was organized as a community gathering event to celebrate the planning process. It was held outdoors (under open tents) with food and drinks available for attendees. The meeting was attended by over 75 residents and community members. A follow-up open house was conducted by Town staff on September 28, 2021 to gather additional feedback on the future land use map.
Economic Opportunities and Redevelopment • Learn more about what jobs can be brought to the neighborhood. • Provide more economic opportunity. • Provide affordable store franchise, fitness center, and urgent care. • Provide short-term industry certifications in close proximity -- this will increase wages which in turn will increase eligibility for home loans and purchases.
