Education Primary schools in Tralee are predominantly located in the centre of the town, with the exception of Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn and Tralee Educate Together National Schools to the north of the town. Similarly, secondary schools are generally within the town centre and therefore, most of the residential areas on the outskirts of the town are outside the walking catchment.
The special schools are also located close to the town centre and therefore, the majority of the residential areas are outside the walking catchment. However, only a small percentage of the population requires access to special schools and unlike primary and secondary schools these facilities would generally have limited provision across a town. The IT Tralee North Campus is on the edge of the town, and is thus beyond the 10-minute walking catchment of most of the town, as shown in Figure 37. Town bus services help to link IT Tralee with the rest of the town.
