Angels on Call

In the Abrahamic religions, we see angels defined as extensions of God. Christianity defines these beings as messengers and protectors, and often organizes them into hierarchies. In Judaism, mal’achim are spiritual messengers of God’s will. Islam has beings of divine light called malā’ikah that are guardians set out to deliver holy revela- tions. Meanwhile, both Hinduism and Buddhism include the concept of devas to describe benevolent luminous beings that exist through multiple realms and layers of consciousness. In esoteric descriptions, angels are frequencies and energy fields of support. No matter your beliefs, these overlaps and similarities suggest there may be much more than meets the limited perspective of the human eye. More importantly, these entities give way to hope, guidance and support when we need it most during our experience here on earth. As the quote commonly attributed to 13th century angelology expert St. Thomas Aquinas goes, “Angels transcend every religion, every philos - ophy, every creed. In fact, angels have no religion as we know it. Their existence precedes every religious system that has ever existed.” A Prismatic Array of Love and Light Celestial beings span a vast spectrum. There’s a prismatic array of archangels ready to rise to the challenge should you need them, not to mention your personalized set of guides: your guardian angels. These ethereal sages through the ages bring forth the infinite intelligence of the universe in different ways. I spoke with intuitive healer Susan Lynne, who helped clarify the difference between guardian angels and the archangels. When discussing guardian angels, she explained,
“You’ve got more than one guardian angel because they need a break, too. They need to take a vacation!” We are each born into this world with a personal team of guardian angels that never leave us. Quietly moving through this earthly realm beside us, nudging us forward and offering encouragement as needed, they help us align with our soul purpose. Just think: what a profound sentiment to know such sublime heavenly beings have handpicked you to protect and guide throughout this mortal journey. Depending on the school of thought, there are various archangels available to assist us. The most commonly recognized intervening archangels tend to include: the protection and strength of Michael, the spiritual warrior; the divine messages and communication of Ga - briel; and the healing of Raphael. Some religions mention seven arch - angels, while modern spirituality often utilizes the twelve archangels that align with the sun signs. Most lightworkers I’ve spoken with do not place limitations on the archangels they work with, and instead relay any messages they re- ceive from these beings of pure love and light. Others receive messag- es as colors, relaying the intentions of the various archangels repre- sented by differing luminous hues.
