Putting people first has been part of the mission of Spirit Airlines since its first flight in 1980. One of Spirit Airlines’ core principles is offering passengers the lowest price fare compared to other airlines. The company achieves this by offering Frill Control™, which allows passengers to purchase only the amenities they desire, rather than include every frill in the ticket price, as other airlines do. This includes checking bags, selecting seats and consuming in-flight refreshments. Low fees haven’t stopped the airline from operating more than 480 daily flights to 60 destinations in the U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean. This success, in part, is thanks to its
partnership with St. John Properties, which provides a space for one of Spirit Airlines’ supply chain opera- tions. The location affords convenient access to Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) Airport, as well as various other airports in the region that are easily accessible via Interstate 95. “The location’s prox-
imity to BWI provides for ease of access for suppliers and vendors without the challenges of being on a restricted airfield,” said Antony Tam, Corporate Real Estate Consultant. Not only that, but St. John Properties worked with Spirit Airlines to customize its space. “St. John Properties was able to assist with widening an overhead door to meet our specifications,” Tam added. “They were very responsive to our needs and provided quick follow-up.” As they continue to grow, Spirit Airlines hopes to stand out by providing passengers a refreshing new way of traveling affordably around the world.
