A MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF YEAR 10

Last term we were able to enjoy a range of celebrations. The major event that occurred in the final week of last term was the Staff Panto. What an incredible display from the teachers! The teachers that performed should be commended for placing themselves on the stage and delivering another brilliant performance.

This week we have made a great start to 2024, the students have returned full of energy and ready to get stuck into their studies. It has been great to see all the happy faces around the school and to catch up with all the news from the students.

Congratulations to 10PCL who came top of the epraise leaderboard this week, with a brilliant 25 points. In second place we have 10SHO closely behind with 21 points. Well done to both tutor groups!

Next week we will have an assembly with Mr Isted our Deputy Head on new year resolutions and how to make the most of the fresh start.

Looking forward to this term, students are reminded of the expectations around their uniform. There should be no fake nails, fake eyelashes, no jewellery and no hair dye of an unnatural colour. Students will be required to remove makeup and false nails at the KS4 HUB.

BOOK OF THE MONTH

Looking for Alaska by John Green

“Looking for Alaska’’ by John Green is a poignant exploration of adolescence, love, and loss. The novel follows the journey of Miles Halter as he navigated the labyrinth of boarding school life and falls for the enigmatic Alaska Young. With a perfect blend of humour and heartbreak, Green crafts a narrative that resonates with readers long after the last page. “Looking for Alaska’’ is a beautifully written coming-of-age story that captures the essence of the human experience in a way that is both relatable and profound.
