Maddie McConomy | Arena Snowparks Originally from Ontario, Canada, Maddie found snowboarding through the support of her parents, but ultimately fell in love with the idea of supporting her passion for riding through working direct- ly or indirectly with ski resorts. After taking a year off from university and truly realizing that welding was a trade skill she wanted to pur- sue, the journey began. Maddie has completed and been a part of fabrication projects for Thredbo Ski Resort, Arena Snowparks, and Kosciuszko National Park. She has also competed in welding com- petitions and is never afraid of her next challenge. maddie.mcconomy@gmail.com Corey McDonald | Bogus Basin Corey started working in terraIn parks winter 1996-97, trying to get a park program started at Bogus Basin, Idaho. He learned how to op- erate snowcats at Soldier Mountain, Idaho, in 2001 and then winter 2002 he built and operated Sun Valley’s first halfpipe on Baldy. In 2008, he got the job as on-hill manager/head digger at High Cas- cade Snowboard Camp, and spent the next 10 summers running that program on Mt. Hood. He would spend winters building with Pat Melandoski throughout the U.S. and Canada. In 2014, he was finally tasked with starting the terrain park department at Bogus Ba - sin and has been going strong there for 10 years. coreymacdesign@gmail.com Connor Owen | Prinoth Connor began his career in the ski industry chasing his passion for snowsports. He joined the terrain park team at WinSport, Alberta, jumped into a snowcat, and focused his terrain park building jour- ney on slopestyle and big air. During his grooming career, he has worked heavily with Charles Beckinsale building multiple National Team training venues, World Cup courses, and numerous high-lev- el events. Connor has worked with National Teams and athletes worldwide, and has a passion for building venues in Western Can- ada. Connor joined Prinoth as a demo operator and now supports resorts throughout Western Canada. The last time Connor attended Cutter’s Camp he was a camper, and now is excited to be returning as a coach. connor.owen@prinoth.com Lucas Ouellette | Arena Snowparks Lucas has been working in the terrain park world for more than 22 years. He’s traveled the globe building everything from rail jams to the Olympics and everything in between. As director of operations at Arena Snowparks, he oversees design and construction of events, manages the rail fabrication shop, and creates the majority of the stupid videos seen on the ASP Instagram. Lucas is always stoked to see the next generation of park builders pushing creativity and quality on their builds. You can find him in the hottub with Steve most evenings during Cutter’s Camp. Phil Pereira | PistenBully Phil Pereira is the snowcat supervisor at Woodward Copper, where he runs a PistenBully nearly year-round to maintain and build some of Colorado’s top terrain parks. Since starting at Copper in 2016 on the hand crew, Phil has spent the last eight years in the cat, farming snow and shaping features in every season. His build experience includes major events like X Games, Dew Tour, Grand Prix, USASA Nationals, as well as constructing 22-foot pipes and building for Woodward Summer Camp. In addition to grooming, Phil is skilled in refabbing and welding park features and has a background as a vehicle mechanic, making him a versatile asset both in and out of the machine. Steve Petrie | Arena Snowparks Steve Petrie arrived in Whistler, B.C., in the early ‘90s looking for a job that would allow him to snowboard as much as possible. He joined Blackcomb as a groomer in 1994—the first year the mountain built a terrain park. After 11 years of working back-to- back winters and summers, he founded Arena Snowparks in 2004. Since then, the ASP team has traveled the world building parks, half pipes, snowcrosses, and events, including multiple Winter Olympic Games. You can find him in the hottub with Lucas most evenings during Cutter’s Camp. steve@arenasnowparks.com David Stanley |Ullr David grew up riding in North Carolina and Wisconsin, with his first industry job as a videographer at a summer camp in Whistler, B.C. Over time, he traded the camera for code, leading engineering teams at several startups before founding Ullr—a platform that helps ski resorts manage terrain parks, lifts, and operations. David started Ullr in 2017 to bring tech to the mountains he loves. He lives in the mountains near Asheville, N.C., with his wife and son. david@ullr.ski Logan Stewart | Timberline Logan began working at Timberline in the summer of 1999 as a lift operator. Soon he moved into park crew and then summer hill co- ordinator, overseeing the summer ski operation. He’s now the Tim- berline mountain manager in charge of several departments at the resort, which means he spends a lot of time in meetings, a little bit of time in a snowcat, more time at formal lunches, and the rest of the time at his desk online shopping for flannel shirts, leather work boots, and the perfect accessories to match. He’s otherwise one of the most vital cogs in the Cutter’s Camp machine and the SAM team is perpetually grateful for all he does—and he looks damn good doing it. lstewart@timberlinelodge.com
