Conference Overview
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)
Holding on to Hope – That’s What We’re Doing. Life’s journey can be filled with challenges, but our hope is anchored in the unchanging promises of God, who strengthens us through every trial.
Who Are “We”? We are believers and disciples of Christ.
Where Do We Get this Hope? Our hope can only be found in Jesus Christ, the one who died, was buried, and rose again to save us from sin. The Identity of the Believer Spiritually speaking, “believer” refers to one who has faith in Jesus Christ as the one who died, was buried, and rose again to save man from sin. Faith is important to the identity of a believer. Hebrews 11:1 (NIV) gives this definition of faith: “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." Faith is trust. As a believer, our faith/trust is in Jesus Christ. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8 (NIV) God’s gift is given to every believer and disciple, and received by faith. As a believer, we are commissioned to “…go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you...” Matthew 28:19-20a (NLT) Our Calling as Disciples A “disciple” is a follower, and as believers, we are disciples (followers) of Christ. We have been called to witness to others so that they too can become disciples and have true hope that can only be found in Christ.
