RESPONDING TO THE ECONOMY: DUES REDUCTION

Professional engineers and geoscientists faced high job losses during the recent recession. Alberta’s economy is improving , but the job market is still recovering. Over the past two years, APEGA has offered our unemployed members an annual dues reduction of 75 per cent. In 2017, Council approved a one-year extension to these dues reductions, to a maximum of three consecutive years. Members who currently have their dues reduced can apply to extend that reduction in 2018, if they are still unemployed. GAUGING THE JOB MARKET, SEARCHING THE JOB MARKET Every year, our salary survey provides up-to-date information on compensation for our members. In 2017, 246 permit holding organizations participated, representing more than 14,500 APEGA members. 2 15 2016 2017 6.8% Geo. 6.3% Geo. 6.3% Geo. 6.8% Geo. 6.3% Geo. 6.3% Geo.
