Through almost a half century, the^Moody Bible Institute of Chicago has maintained, without change, the purpose which is stated in its articles of incor­ poration as being “ to educate, direct, encourage, maintain and send forth Christian workers, Bible readers, gospel singers, teachers, and evangelists competent to effectually preach and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ.” Will H. Houghton is the Presi­ dent of this “West Point of Christian Service.” A number of courses are offered: General, Pastors, Missionary, Christian Education, Christian Educa­ tion-Music, Music, and Jewish Missions. There is no charge for tuition. The amount needed to pay room and board, Student Benefit Fee of $7.50, and minor incidentals (not including music lessons) is $150 a term. It is still true of the school, as m the days of D. L. Moody, the founder, that “ every student is required each day, while studying, to do personal Christian work in missions, tents, homes and elsewhere, under competent supervision.” San Diego Army and Navy Academy Carlsbad, Calif. The school established last year by Col. Thomas A. Davis and Maj. John L. Davis at Carlsbad, Calif, near San Diego, under the name of Davis Military Academy, has again resumed the name of

Florida Bible Institute San Diego Army and Navy Academy. It was a love for, and an interest in, boys and young men and a sincere desire to give them Christian char­ acter training that impelled Colonel Davis to take up military school work thirty years ago. Between 4,000 and 5,000 boys from various states of the United^ States ( and from many foreign countries can give testimony to the work ana wholesome influences which dominate a school for which the Davises are responsible. Rapid advance­ ment for the student is the result of careful, per­ sonal attention on the part of competent instruc­ tors. A free placement bureau is maintained. Spe­ cial rates are offered during the Sawyer Summer Session. Located in a fine residential district of Seattle, Simpson Bible Institute has an enrollment of 96 students. Christian young men and women, eight­ een years of age or older, preferably high-school graduates, may enroll as students. A strong Bible course is offered, with opportunity to specialize in music and teacher training. No degrees are given. “ The Bible is the core of the curriculum.” J. D. Williams is the President. There are ten instructors on the faculty. The minimum amount required for one year’s training (including board, room, tuition, and books) is $175. Students receive full accredit­ ing in other institutions of similar nature. Close connections with large, fundamental, city churches afford cultural advantages. There are many oppor­ tunities for practical Christian service. Stony Brook is on the North Shore of Long Island, about fifty miles from New York City. The total number of students in the school in 1936-37^ was 132. Work begins with seventh grade and continues through high school. Character references as well as certificate and credits from previous^ school are required for entrance. Bible study is required throughout the entire curriculum on the average of three periods a week. This 6ible course is accred­ ited for entrance to various colleges and^ univer­ sities. The head of the Bible department is Frank E. Gaebelein, Headmaster of the School. The pur­ pose of the institution is to combine evangelical Christian principles with high academic standing in the preparatory field. The Stony Brook School is not coeducational; it is for boys only. The stated rate for tuition and board for the year is $900. However, in a good many cases, reductions are made according to individual need. This^ par­ ticularly applies to sons of missionaries, ministers, and other Christian workers. Graduates of Stony Brook have entered over sixty different colleges ana universities from California to New England. The certificate of the school is widely^ accepted in lieu of entrance examinations. There is a full program of athletics. Work in music appreciation is offered. Taylor University Upland, Ind. The doors of Taylor University are open to Chris­ tian youth who desire a standard college educa­ tion in the midst of an ideal spiritual atmosphere. The Bible is taught as the Word of God and all students are required to take a specified number of hours of Bible before graduation. The Presi­ dent is Robert Lee Stuart; J. A. Huffman is Dean of the School of Religion. The school is coedu­ cational, and the minimum expense for a year is $413. This amount includes tuition^ board, and accommodations in fine modern^ dormitories. Work is received and 100% credit given to Taylor Uni­ versity students in the leading institutions of learn­ ing in America and Canada. The buildings and campus are superior to those of many other colleges of similar size. Faculty members are well trained, “ with high degrees from the great universities of America, and yet are definitely and^ enthusiastically Christian.” Taylor University is in its ninety-second year.
