Union Bible Seminary Westfield, Ind.

Located about twenty miles from Indianapolis, the state capital, Union Bible Seminary accom modates about 60 students. Applicants must be earn est Christians, determined to prepare for the Lord’s work. ^William M. Smithy the Superintendent of the Seminary, has been in Bible training school work for forty years. •With strict economy, a student may complete a seminary year (twenty-eight weeks) at an outlay of only $150. The school is adapted to thq needs of persons who have been called to the Lord’s work late in life and whose early education has been neglected. It is also well adapted to mar ried people and those who have children, for under its auspices both grade school and high school sub jects are taught. “ Our old-fashioned equipment pre pares graduates for the hard places in the Lord’s vineyard and to put up with what they meet in such work.” The institution is “ fundamental, pre- millennial, evangelical, and evangelistic.” Members of any evangelical denomination are welcome. The academy is a preparatory school, fully ac credited by the State University and a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Sec ondary Schools. It has the same standards and Christian ideals that are upheld in Wheaton Col lege, and the close fellowsnip between the college and the academy brings mutual advantages. Many mature students find the courses offered helpful because they afford an opportunity to complete the high-school program under sympathetic teachers and with those of Tike interest. If we would be Christians, we must repent of and turn from our sins; we must believe that the “blood of Jesus Christ his Son” can cleanse us from all sin, and we must yield ourselves unto Him, to have wrought in us this greatest of all miracles. Service is a product of salvation, and never its cause. A Christian is one who has Christ in him, one who lets Christ think through his mind, love through his heart, and act through his will; one who in Christ’s death has died to sin and the world, and who now walks in “ newness of life” ; one who is daily becoming more like Christ in char acter, and whose conduct, at all times, and with reference to all things, has for its standard the will of God. C hrist — O ur D eepest N eed It is so wonderful to be a Christian that many who bear the name have despaired of the character, and have become content with something less. But worldly people expect Christians to be like Him whose name they profess. By our lips to bear the name, and by our lives to belie all that it stands for, is to crucify the Son of God afresh and put Him to an open shame. The world is looking for Christians, not for church members, not for ecclesiastics, not for religious controversialists, not for Presby terians, Baptists, Wesleyans, or any other, not for Fundamentalists as such, nor for Modernists, but for Christians, for Christ’s men and women, for the people who not only name Him, but really follow Him in the power of the Holy Spirit; it is for these that the world is looking, and Christ is looking for them, too. Christ! O magic Name! Christ who lived among us, and who lives again to save us from death! Christ is the one and only hope of this sin-cursed and distracted world. He only can forgive our sins, remove our guilt, WHAT IS IT TO BE A CHRISTIAN? [ Continued from page 298]

ONION BIBLE SEMINARY “A School o f the O ld-Time Relig ion ” I? especially adapted to men and women whose early education has been neglected, or whose call to service came late in life. Married people find here a congenial atmosphere, as about half the students each year are married. Those with children of school age find our private graded and high school solve the problem of where to give them a guarded education free from modernistic teachings. Single people who, like Isaac, love to clean out the wells which the fathers have dug, will find water and room and an altar and blessing. Old-Fashioned equipment and teaching helps to prepare

students for the hard places where the harvest is great and laborers few. Economical terms allow a student arriving properly clothed to take 28 weeks (a school year) for $150. This covers tuition, board, and room and leaves $10' for incidentals, books, etc. This implies living economically. The Bible is the main text book. and give to us the power of an endless life. He only can keep our burdens from crush ing us, can penetrate our problems with the light of His countenance, can give to us a “ deep settled peace in our souls,” and the joy which is “ unspeakable and full of glory.” He only can, and He surely will', if only we will let Him. Scrap all substi tutes for salvation, and flee all subterfuges, and come to His cross, pleading only your urgent need, and He will not fail you. Christ is able to save to the uttermost all who come unto God by Him. Then, why not come? AROUND THE KING’ S TABLE [Continued from page 292] program. He recognizes the Holy Spirit as his infallible Guide. He allows the Third Person of the Godhead to direct his steps. Like Paul, the' present-day servant of Christ has an eye for the stategic places. Paul preached the gospel in great world centers. He went to Corinth, Ephesus, and Rome. Churches were established in these key cities, and it was Paul’s plan that these churches should evangelize the city and the surrounding area. The great apostle sought to reach all classes. He preached to the Jews and to the Gentiles. He had the spirit of concern for his own people. He said: “Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved” (Rom. 10:1). He preached in the synagogues, in the open air, and in the homes. If he were alive today, he would hold great tent meetings and would utilize the radio. Paul said: “ I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some” (1 Cor. 9:22). Paul had a genius for putting others to work. Moody said it is better to Iget ten men to work than to do the work of ten men. It has been said aptly that it is the business of the preacher to organize, depu tize, and supervise. Oh, for the ability to put every member of the body of Christ to work! Every member has some talent, and great things could be accomplished if every member of the body would function
