Command Line Interface The Command Line Interface (CLI) is used for out-of-band control of the CE Services products. It provides the ability to customize configurations and status monitoring.

Command Line Overview

Some of the commands have optional parameters. If a required parameter is missing the terminal will display the following message: % Incomplete command

Show next possible input and a description

Ctrl Q

Show syntax of possible commands

Tab

Show next possible input without a description or complete a word if it is unambiguous

Command Line Syntax Each command is described by its syntax using the following delimiters: […] square brackets indicate an optional construct { } curly brackets indicate a grouping “|” a straight line indicates a choice between two or more options It is possible to have sequences of optional parameters. For example: { [a] [b] [c] }*1 the “*1” indicates that at least one of the optional parameters must be present [a] {[b]} [c] curly brackets in a sequence of optional parameters indicates one or more of the parameters has a fixed position See the following examples: Example 1: Request help with the show access-list command (3 options): Input (enter the command and then a question mark): 0* # show access-list? Output: access-list Access list <cr> Input (enter the command and then a question mark a second time): # show
