Ping
This page allows you to issue ICMP PING packets to troubleshoot IP connectivity issues. Ping is a program that sends a series of packets over a network or the Internet to a specific computer in order to generate a response from that computer. The other computer responds with an acknowledgment that it received the packets. Ping was created to verify whether a specific computer on a network or the Internet exists and is connected. Ping uses Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) packets. The PING Request is the packet from the origin computer, and the PING Reply is the packet response from the target. ), ICMP packets are transmitted, and the sequence number and round trip time are displayed upon receipt of a reply. The amount of data received inside of an IP packet of type ICMP ECHO_REPLY will always be 8 bytes more than the requested data space (the ICMP header). The page refreshes automatically until responses to all packets are received, or until a timeout occurs. PING server 10.10.132.20, 56 bytes of data. After you press the Start button (
