The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Health and Wellness Coaching program might be for you.

As a health and wellness coach, you will guide individuals during their transformative journey of achieving lasting changes and enhanced well-being by helping them overcome hurdles, surpass limitations and tap into their own unrealized personal and professional potential.

The Health and Wellness Coaching Certificate program is unique because our focus is on YOU and your practical SKILL DEVELOPMENT. You will gain marketable skills, empowering you to help others create and sustain healthy behavior change.

Accelerated Learning Complete your certificate in as few as five (5) months. Most classes are completed in eight (8) weeks. National Board Certification The UW-Stevens Point Health and Wellness Coaching Certificate is an Approved Health and Wellness Coach Training & Education Program by the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC).

Two Pathways for Your JOURNEY

Earn a certificate following your preferred pathway. Both options equally prepare you to sit for the NBHWC exam and become a certified health and wellness coach. PROFESSIONAL CONTINUING EDUCATION (80 CEC s ) • CECs available through National Wellness Institute • ACSM, CHES/MCHES, NWI-CWP, SHRM • No bachelor’s degree or transcripts required • Lower cost than graduate credit option GRADUATE CREDIT (12 credits ) • Your Health and Wellness Coaching Certificate and your credits earned appear on your transcript • Credits may transfer to master’s programs, including at UW-Stevens Point : • Community and Organizational Leadership • Sustainable and Resilient Food Systems • Financial aid available when concurrently accepted in a master’s program at UW-Stevens Point • Additional focus on research and new trends in evidenced-based practices 1 2

Your Work-Life BALANCE

We know you’re busy and we have your wellness in mind.

Complete this program for graduate credit or as professional continuing education; both options meet the standards of the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC). The nine-month program is comprised of four eight-week courses offered 100% online via a mix of scheduled 2.5-hour live-interaction classes, plus independent teaching and learning. Learning modules within every course are designed to be completed in approximately 30 minutes or less.

Note: The summer session is only available for continuing education credit. If you want to earn graduate credit, you must enroll in the school-year program.

Where Will Your CAREER Take You? NBHWC explains, “Health and wellness coaches partner with clients seeking self-directed, lasting changes, aligned with their values, which promote health and wellness, and, thereby enhance well-being.” The demand for professionals with health and wellness coaching skills is high. A January 2023 search on ziprecruiter.com found over 350,000 jobs seeking health and wellness coaching skills.

Health and wellness coaches are employed by: • hospitals, clinics, counseling and treatment centers • corporations • employee assistance programs • schools and universities • insurance agencies • social service agencies • fitness centers • U.S. military • self-employed

You will work with national board-certified coaches as you observe and lead weekly practice coaching sessions. Our coaching experts have experience working industry, health care, veterans’ services, coaching organizations, and private practice. National Board-Certified Coaches WILL BE YOUR GUIDES
