Wu Kong, born in Huaguo Mountain, has a heart of stone. Ji Hua, a powerful general from heaven, was going to terminate him. But Wu Kong was rescued by Bodhi and became his pupil. The movie is based on Jin Hezai's internet novel Wukong Biography, which retells the story of Sun Wukong (the Monkey King) in the classical novel Journey to the West and is partly inspired by the 1995 comedy film A Chinese Odyssey. With a star-studded cast including Eddie Peng, Shawn Yue, Ni Ni , and Oho Ou…, after just 4 days in theaters, the film achieved an admirable feat by topping the box office charts with 400 million yuan, and soon after raked in over 696 million yuan in box office revenue.
