Ronald Aker Jr. was born on March 19, 1947 and married Delores Aker in1956 before he joined the United States Navy. He served this country for 20 years and 8 months as he retired as a Chief Petty officer. a Portion of his time in the Navy was spent being a recruiter, where he offered at risk individuals exposure to a different way of life. Upon his retirement, he became a serial entrepreneur in Rome, Ga. where he created jobs for at risk youth and veterans. Chief Aker was a fierce advocate for veterans ensuring that he educated them on their veteran's rights. Chief Aker was highly respected for his leadership skills. his love for serving the community, for his business acumen, his inclusive spirit, infectious smile,and ability to make all feel welcomed. Chief Petty officer Ronald Aker Jr. departed this earth in 2013 leaving behind his beautiful bride, four daughters, 7 grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
