Lieutenant Colonel Tennille Woods Fears is a Chicago native and graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering. She enlisted in the Army in 2005 and attended the U.S. Army Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, GA where she was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Signal Corps. LTC Fears, a Cyber Warfare Officer, has served in various assignments in IT and cyberspace operations, including a deployment to Baghdad, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with XVIII Airborne Corps. She is currently assigned to United States Army Strategy Support Element, Deputy Chief of Staff G-3/5/7, Headquarters, Department of the Army, as a Cyber Operations Strategist. She holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Project Management Professional (PMP) industry certifications. LTC Fears was featured in a Vogue Magazine Special Project featuring Black servicewomen who wear their natural hair in uniform entitled "New Order: A trailblazing generation of black military servicewomen is embracing the natural hair movement." She is a servant leader who serves her community as the Vice President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®, Alpha Beta Alpha Omega Chapter.
