We Kimyada Wellington, a retired U.S. Army Veteran, public servant, and community advocate whose legacy of service spans military, educational, and civic leadership. proudly celebrate Kimyada currently serves as Administrator of the Recovering Professionals Program at the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR), ensuring the success of professionals recovering from impairment. She also holds board roles with Volunteers of America Illinois, and leads the Female Vets in IL Facebook group, advocating for fellow veterans. Her commitment to supporting veterans extends through 3 Vets is a Charm, connecting veteran entrepreneurs and leaders. As a former Maywood Village Trustee, Kimyada worked tirelessly for her community, leading housing initiatives like the mixed-use development in Maywood to create lasting economic and social change. Kimyada also plays a pivotal role in Jack and Jill of America, Inc., supporting youth leadership and community initiatives. Her work with the Maywood Bataan Day Organization (MBDO) continues to preserve history and honor veterans, contributing to community service and education. As a 30 year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, Kimyada was initiated in Lambda Psi chapter at Lewis University. She has held numerous positions as officers and committee chairs. She currently chairs the Strength Our Sisterhood Committee.
