Y oung women are often faced with a myriad of challenges as they navigate through adolescence and young adulthood. In recognition of the unique needs and potential of these individuals, UMADAOP Akron has established the Young Ladies of Distinction program—an initiative aimed at providing prevention, empowerment, and support to young women in the community. Held weekly on Thursdays throughout the school year, the Young Ladies of Distinction sessions serve as a vital platform for nurturing personal growth, building self-esteem, and equipping participants with the tools to make positive life choices. At the core of this program lies a profound mission: to empower young women to become resilient, responsible, and successful members of their communities.
