A pool day? Great!

There’s nothing quite like jumping into the pool on a hot summer’s day. Whether you want to cool off, have fun, work out or relax, the pool is the perfect place to go! There are tons of activities you can do in the pool. For example, you can play water polo, arrange friendly swimming races, join a game of water volleyball, go on an under- water treasure hunt, partake in aquafit classes or set up a diving competition (in- ground pools only). Of course, you can always play the classic game of Marco Polo.

If you want to float around and relax, that’s cool, too! You can sip on a cocktail, read a magazine or soak up some sun. There’s something for everyone — young and old alike. Bring some beach balls, floating accessories (inflatable mattress), pool noodles and swimming goggles to make the most of your pool day. Don’t forget to invite friends, put on some music and have a barbecue.

Find out if there are any dog-friendly, on-leash trails you can explore with your lovable pet. You’ll both have a blast experiencing nature together.

1. Go to a zoo, aquarium or pet store. From majestic mammals and creepy spiders to fascinating reptiles, colourful birds and beautiful butterflies, your local area has many unique places to get up close and personal with your favourite species. 2. Visit a farm. What a great way to learn about farm life and animal care. Many establishments even allow you to feed or pet various animals, like ducks, sheep, alpacas, chickens and other adorable creatures. 3.Observe wildlife. Go on a guided excursion to see bears or beavers in their natural habitat, meet seals and whales or snorkel with marine life. There’s a host of possibilities! 4. Volunteer at an animal shelter. HEATWAVE : A flood of refreshing ideas!

When a heatwave strikes, many activities become less appealing. However, there are still plenty of ways to enjoy summer without baking in the sun. Here are a few ideas: • Go to the beach or spend the day at the pool • Go scuba diving or snorkelling

If you don’t own a pool, find out if any facilities in your area offer free swim days at designated times. Indoor pools can be a great option on rainy days. Water parks are also a great option. However, head straight for the wave pool to avoid waiting in long lines in the blazing sun! • Visit a cave or cavern • Organize an epic water balloon or water-gun fight • Try a homemade ice cream recipe • Go on a boat ride or cruise around on a jet ski • Embrace the wind by water skiing or kite flying • Try hang-gliding or tandem paragliding • Go for a morning hike in the forest
