Dayton 2024

DAYTON

Complementing the OVPP is the Aiming High program, a community-based asset that offers a myriad of positive alternatives for youth aged 10-15. With a focus on enhancing decision-making skills, Aiming High strives to reduce incidences of teen pregnancy, school dropouts, substance abuse, and mental health challenges such as depression and suicide. Through a holistic approach, this program provides mentoring opportunities, education on Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs (ATOD), youth empowerment activities, and culturally enriching experiences that inspire growth, resilience, and self- empowerment among participants. By offering a safe and supportive environment for youth to explore their potential, both the OVPP and Aiming High programs play a pivotal role in shaping the future leaders of UMADAOP Dayton. By instilling values of respect, empathy, and resilience, these initiatives empower young individuals to make informed decisions, build healthy relationships, and navigate life's challenges with grace and determination.
