He also held various project and management positions with Cisco/ Pirelli, JDS Uniphase etc for working on the design, development, and commercialization of fiber optics components. Dr. Jack Jian Xu Vice President Marketing, Telecom Vertical, II-VI Inc. Jack has been working in the optical communications industry for over 25 years. Jack started his career in optical communication with Nortel where he was a project manager for high performance optical component division. He was a founding member of LambdaFlex pioneering in DGE and WSS technology, the company was acquired by Avanex (II-VI) in 2001. He was VP of global sales and marketing for CoAdna which was one of the key WSS and ROADM suppliers in the industry and now part of II-VI. Jack graduated from the University of Science and Technology China, and holds a PhD degree in Physics from Freie Universität Berlin, Germany. Xi Wang Vice President of Optical DSP Business Unit, Marvell is responsible for a broad portfolio of DSP and optical product offerings for the data center optical connectivity market. Xi joined Marvell from Inphi where he served as Associate Vice President of product marketing. years. At II-VI, he is responsible for digital coherent optics (DCO) transceivers. Previously he managed analog coherent optics (ACO) transceivers, coherent components, 40G transponders and tunable lasers at Finisar, acquired by II-VI in 2019. Gert was a co- founder of Syntune in Sweden, acquired by Finisar in 2011, which is now II-VI’s leading fab for highly integrated InP components. Gert holds a PhD degree in Electronic Engineering from Ghent, University, Belgium.
