A Note on Weekend Trips

EXPLO at Wheaton’s weekend trips are a fantastic opportunity for students to engage in academic and recreational adventures, to meet new friends outside of their courses and workshops, and to explore exciting destinations throughout Boston, Providence, and New England. We take great pride and exceptional care in planning our trips, from researching the best and most age-appropriate locations to organizing small, supervised groups for on-site exploring.

Saturday and Sunday are trip days, and students choose from six trip options each day, or 12 per weekend. EXPLO trips range from educational (such as a visit to the Museum of Science) to recreational (a trip to Water Wizz). Students are encouraged to sample from a broad range of choices, and consider trying both our educational and recreational options over the course of their EXPLO experience.

In addition to our weekend trips, each weekend day the program also offers one to two workshops on the campus of Wheaton College. These alternatives are a great way for students to explore sports, arts, theater, science, and many other areas of interest. For example, students can work with our staff to make a patchwork quilt, try pastry making and cake decorating, or learn lacrosse. All residential students attend weekend trips. We highly encourage day students to participate in weekend trips, though they are not required to, to come experience a side of EXPLO not found on campus and make new friends along the way.

Please Note: Trips and Main Events subject to change during the summer.
