Fact v. Opinion

u Sometimes the distinction between a fact and an opinion is not readily apparent u Consider: “John Doe is an excellent General Manager” u This may be a fact if it is based on an objective standard such as overall financial performance of the casino, its compliance record, employee job satisfaction data, Doe’s performance, and other relevant criteria u This may be an opinion if it is not based on objective, provable criteria, but is rather the belief of Doe’s mother.
