Jan. 15: Kristina Marinova plays the music of the Grateful Dead Classically trained pianist Kristina Marinova is performing at Sweetwater Music Hall, 19 Corte Madera Ave. in Mill Vally, on Jan. 15. Marinova brings a unique interpretation of the Grateful Dead’s music with her newest release, The Bus Came By And I Got On. Using only a grand piano, she transforms 11 signature songs into a cinematic, early-’70s–inspired solo experience. Doors open at 7 p.m. and general admission is $42.75; tickets are available through sweetwatermusichall.org.

Dec. 26: Marin Holiday Light Spectacular with Movie Night Experience the magic of the Marin Holiday Light Spectacular, running from Nov. 28 to Jan. 4 from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Marin Center Showcase Theater Plaza. This free, family-friendly celebration features dazzling light sculptures, twinkling pathways, an immersive light tunnel, festive photo spots, seasonal treats and holiday-themed arts and crafts. Located at 20 Avenue of the Flags in San Rafael, enjoy a screening of Paddington at 5:30 p.m. and Scrooged at 7:30 p.m.

Jan. 10-11: The Amigo Guitar Show Amigo Guitar shows are international buy-sell-trade events where attendees can bring musical instruments and related gear to sell, trade or have appraised. Located at the Marin Civic Center, 20 Avenue of the Flags in San Rafael, the event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Jan. 10 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Jan. 11. Guests may bring up to eight items, preferably on a small cart for easy browsing. Expect everything from guitars, amps, drums and effects to memorabilia, parts, records and accessories. Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased on amigoguitarshows.com .

Dec. 31: New Year’s Eve Firework Cruise on The Tamalpais Ring in the New Year aboard the Tamalpais with a cruise to the San Francisco Embarcadero for the annual fireworks show. Departing from Tiburon, the vessel offers stunning nighttime bay views before positioning for the midnight fireworks. Enjoy light appetizers and a sparkling toast included with the $139 fare. Boarding begins at 10:15 p.m., with departure at 10:30 p.m. and return immediately after the show. To purchase tickets, visit angelislandferry.com — guests must be 21 and over.
