The Grand Opening of Fire Station 5 The City of Santa Rosa celebrated the grand opening of the newly constructed Fire Station 5 on Nov. 15 with a traditional Hose Uncoupling Ceremony. Community members gathered at the new 1492 Fountaingrove Parkway station for remarks from city leaders, public safety officials, project partners and state and federal representatives. Guests toured the state-of-the- art facility, met local fire personnel and learned about the station’s resilient, wildfire-ready design. Informational displays traced Santa Rosa’s recovery from the 2017 Tubbs Fire and highlighted the station’s construction and advanced safety features. Rebuilt after the original station was lost in the fire, the new Fire Station 5 was reconstructed with resilience and sustainability in mind.
