Nov. 28: 12th Annual After- Thanksgiving Turkey Waddle Walk off your holiday feast at Jack London State Historic Park’s annual Turkey Waddle Hike, 2400 London Ranch Road in Glen Ellen, on Nov. 28. This moderate 3.5-mile trek winds through evergreens to the majestic Ancient Redwood, also known as the Grandmother Tree. Perfect for all ages, the hike begins at 10 a.m. in the ranch parking lot and ends at noon. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water. Tickets are $10 per person plus a $10 car entry fee (up to nine passengers). For more information visit jacklondonpark.com .

Nov. 23: Sippin’ Santa Launch Party Get into the holiday spirit at The Flamingo Resort & Spa’s Sippin’ Santa Kick-off Spectacular, 2777 Fourth St. in Santa Rosa. On Nov. 23, the resort transforms into a tiki-inspired winter wonderland glowing with thousands of lights, festive décor and live performances by carolers and holiday elves. From 4 to 7 p.m. enjoy signature cocktails, seasonal bites and take family photos with Santa. Flamingo Club members can look forward to an exclusive VIP area. Nov. 29: Santa’s Riverboat Arrival On Nov. 29, wave in the holiday season as Santa and Mrs. Claus sail into downtown Petaluma, 210 Lakeville St. in Petaluma. Festivities begin with lively carols from the Pacific Empire Chorus and face painting by Budderball the Clown. After arriving by riverboat, the Clauses greet families, hand out candy canes and pose for photos outside Taps on the River. The event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., more information can be found on petalumadowntown.com .

Dec. 6: Soup & Sweaters Holiday Soireé Hosted at Alexander Valley Vineyards, 8644 Highway 128 in Healdsburg, is the annual Soup & Sweaters Holiday Soirée on Dec. 6. Sip and savor festive wine-and-soup pairings at seven family-owned wineries, from rich reds to sparkling whites. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. enjoy cozy comfort foods, local hospitality and enter the Best Sweater Contest for a chance to win a wine country experience. Tickets are $21.80 per person and can be purchased at tastedestination128.com .
