Mill Valley Film Festival 2025 The 48th Mill Valley Film Festival took place from Oct. 2 to 12, celebrating 11 days of world-class cinema with acclaimed U.S. and international films, thought-provoking documentaries and family favorites. This year’s event included a Tribute Night honoring filmmaker Spike Lee, who received the MVFF Lifetime Achievement Award on Oct. 11. Screenings and events were held across the Bay Area, including the Smith Rafael Film Center, Sequoia Cinema, Lark Theater and the Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA). The festival also marked the 10th anniversary of Mind the Gap, its gender equity initiative spotlighting the work of women and non-binary filmmakers.
