KEEP CHARLOTTE BEAUTIFUL GREAT AMERICAN CLEANUP LAISHLEY PARK HARBOUR HEIGHTS BEACH ROAD Coastal & Heartland National Estuary Partnership (CHNEP) and KCB partnered on a
Beach Road and the surrounding area was in need of a through cleaning due to heavy debris in the mangroves along the roadway. A dedicated group of 61 volunteers successfully removed over 12,000 lbs of debris from this location. Several additional partners, including Stumpy’s Free Ride, Charlotte County Solid Waste, and Waste Management, provided support to assist the volunteers.
The Harbour Heights Earth Month Event featured a cleanup, gardening activities, and visits from dogs from the Animal Welfare League. Over 42 volunteers removed more than 1,640 lbs of debris, while the Charlotte High Interact Club refreshed the pollinator garden by weeding, adding 30 bags of mulch, and planting 15 new butterfly plants. This event aided in hurricane debris removal and promoted a clean, beautiful community.
cleanup of Laishley Park and had 83 volunteers show up. Port Charlotte High School had 46 students in attendance from Key Club, Environmental Club, National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and NJROTC. Over 1,000 lbs of garbage and debris was picked up!
