Autoprogression meetings kicked off in January 2024 and continued throughout the year, totaling 12–15 sessions. Jeremiah Lanford, Field Safety & Training Development Coordinator; Karly Greene, Maintenance & Operations Manager; Kenna Hubai, Business Services Manager; Michele Winsor, Human Resources Coordinator; and John Elias, Public Works Director, began with a cross-section of the Maintenance & Operations Division, spanning from Maintenance Worker (MW) to Equipment Operator III (EOIII). The approach involved examining job classification requirements while taking a holistic view to identify the key components necessary for cultivating well- rounded MW to EOIII. Additionally, the program is starting to incorporate soft and leadership skills to assist employees interested in moving into supervisory roles at some point in their careers. This program offers individuals seeking advancement the opportunity to do so, while also allowing those who prefer to remain in their current positions to participate. Participants can refine their skills, enhance their proficiency, and receive pay increases upon achieving specific milestones. Furthermore, this initiative removes the necessity for skills testing, as it promotes internal advancement within the existing team. All divisions are actively working on creating automatic progression pathways for their staff.
WHAT IS AUTOPROGRESSION? Autoprogression is a mechanism that provides employees the opportunity to advance either within their job classification or prepare them for the next position through a series of pre- determined training categories. These categories, types of training, and hour requirements ensure you become proficient within your job classification and improve safety for the employee, organization, and our residents.
