In collaboration with Leading Edge (now known as Central Life Sciences) and Frontier Precision Technology, Mosquito Control conducted a survey to assess the swath width, or area covered, by drones dispersing granular larvicide products. Several large-capacity drones were evaluated, each carrying an average of 20–30lbs of material, with costs ranging from $55,000 to $1,025,000. Swath width was measured under light breezes at an average height of 40–50ft. Coverage was approximately 250ft wide, positioning these drones as a promising option for targeted product distribution in both aquatic and mosquito control programs.
