HOMELESS CAMP CLEANUP Murdock Village Murdock Village had a significant homeless population, with more than 60 campsites identified. The land was under contract with Kolter Enterprises for the development of West Port Village. The presence of these encampments created a barrier to the final sale. In response, Charlotte County Public Works collaborated with CCSO and Gulf Coast Partnership to facilitate the relocation of individuals experiencing homelessness and to clear the area of debris. The large-scale project took several weeks to complete and resulted in the collection and proper disposal of approximately 800 tons of trash and debris. BEFORE AFTER
