Dear Reader, You might be the only person who actually reads this – and so you should know, this note is for you . Next time you pick up this maga- zine, it will be the rst back-in-print "local" version of High Times in the country. High Times Denver . at’s right, a High Times publication dedicated to Mile High cannabis, but FREE and bi-monthly. High Times Local is a special new type of edition that will highlight the historic magazine's full library of journalism, while embracing our local heroes and favorite brands. Cannabis is no longer taboo in some states, yet there's still need for revolution. It's time for counter culture to rise again and we’re proud to ride that wave under a familiar crest. Yet, it’s a bittersweet moment. You hold in your hands the last Can- napages – at least for the time being – which o cially marks the closing of a major chapter. We, the editors, have been around . We protested on the Capitol steps every month in the early aughts, shouting at cars to legalize weed. We were caregivers with bedroom closet growrooms. We were managing dispensaries when Rec passed. Cannapages is not just a magazine to us; this small family company is our story and livelihood. With the world in a hurricane, we felt that now was time to partner with High Times to bring more of what regions need: better culture, better focus on community. Decades ago, cannabis was the tie that bound us together, over peace pipes in wood-paneled basements lit only by lava lamps. In this era of insanity it may be the only thing that can bring “US” back. What you’ll see for the 4/20 issue – and going forward – will be a new High Times for YOU. One that celebrates the local circle & special wares of the area, while bringing you some of the best of their stories, old and new. And don’t worry - the coupons & deals are here to stay .
