Abbey, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the National Gallery, the Tower of London, Tra- falgar and Leicester squares, a boat cruise on the Thames, the Greenwich Observatory, a Beatles Tour, a Jack the Ripper Tour, and a performance of Wicked in the Theatre Dis- trict were some of their destinations. The students interviewed, Abigail Graves, Makenzy Reid, Sarah Wyville, Andie Big- gins and Nicole Ross said everyone liked the Tube—better than the Paris Metro. In France they took another bus tour, went to the tops of the Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower, visited the Louvre, Versailles, Notre- Dame Basilica, Pantheon Theatre, Musee d’Orsay, and took a day trip to Vimy Ridge and the Beaumont Hamel battlefield. “But the best part of the tripwas experien-

cing the huge cultural variety,” said teacher Jennifer Jones. “The dining, the popular

culture… it’s so different from what we ex- pect.”

RUSSELL l Twenty girls and two teachers from Russell High School took a 10-day excursion to London, England and Paris, France March 5-14. The biannual school trip is offered every other year. This year’s all-girl participation made chaperoning and accommodations simpler on the whirlwind tour. During four days in each city they saw many of the European capitals’ famous sites. They began at Heathrow, taking the Tube into the city and were whisked off on a bus tour. Buckingham Palace, Westminster
