EVENING ACTIVITIES: TUESDAY, JUNE 25

[401] Art Party at the MSU Broad Grandkids and grandparents are invited to MSU’s contemporary art museum for a night of curiosity and creativity! There is something for everyone, including self-guided gallery tours, hands-on activities and artmaking. [402] Beal at Night, Gardener’s Delight Get your hands dirty and learn the science of gardening. We have fun activities to grow your gardening skills and attract different types of pollinators to your home. [403] Dazzleball Dazzleball is a fast-moving, ever-changing sportsball game! It’s a combination of soccer, football and frisbee with two teams competing against on another. This makes Dazzleball similar to Quidditch just without shapeshifting balls and played on the ground. [404] Disc Golf Learn about the basic rules and mechanics of Disc Golf – a fun, casual and low-impact sport for all ages! Participants will walk through a few simple shots and practice a putting technique. No need to bring your own materials, discs will be loaned for practicing. [405] Drum Circle Drum circles are one of the most powerful ways for groups of people to communicate. Join in the fun with instruments of all shapes and sizes, including ones made in the workshops. If you have a drum or other instrument, please bring it with you. [406] IM East Open Gym Play basketball, volleyball, run the track and more during open gym time at the Intramural East building. No structured games, coaches, or referees.

[407] Movie Night Relax and unwind with a family movie. Snacks are provided. [408] MSU Pompon Experience an MSU Pompon performance and learn a routine. [409] Pickleball Learn the basics skills and strategy of pickleball [410] Static Electricity with WKAR’s Curious Crew Explore several STEM investigations and get “charged up” as you complete a hands- on challenge building an electroscope with WKAR’s Curious Crew. [411] Sweets, Treats and Games Spend time playing games while enjoying the provided snacks and drinks. [412] The Creator’s Game: Lacrosse History and Basic Skills Learn the Native American history of lacrosse (originally known as the Creator’s Game) and go over basic skills of the game using boys’ and girls’ sticks and soft balls. There are many aspects of the class that are appropriate for those with limited mobility. [413] Tour the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) Explore a world-class rare isotope laboratory where nuclei are smashed into a target at half the speed of light! Our tour includes demonstrations, an introduction to the goals and methods of nuclear science, and a 50-min walk through the research vaults. The secrets we learn could help explain what happens in supernovae and the origins of elements that make up the human body.
