Learn about some of Harry’s culture and vocabulary and the reasons why American English and British English have become different over time. [207] Introduction to Machine Sewing Learn how to use a sewing machine. With simple, but fun, techniques you’ll design and sew your own zipped fabric pouch. [208] Learning Forward Family Adventure Explore shared experiences using storytelling, timelines and reflection techniques to craft a unique ‘Learning Forward Family Journey.’ [209] Pointillism, Painting with Dots Learn about the history of pointillism and experiment by painting using the pointillism method. [210] Theatre Arts Exploration Take a broad look into the world of theatre arts through participatory activities including improv, acting and movement with a Wharton Center Teaching Artist. [211] Cash Conversations with the MSU Federal Credit Union Students will play an interactive budgeting game and make decisions on hypothetical everyday expenses by focusing on saving, spending and sharing money.
Learn about geocaching while touring the MSU Horticulture Gardens, operating a basic GPS unit and finding up to five geocaches. NOTE: GPS units will be provided. This class requires a lot of walking and is intended for students who have not geocached before. Find out what collaborative research efforts contribute to conservation efforts on protecting organisms and what you can do to help. Exploring the Red Cedar River What lurks in and around the waters of the river that runs through the MSU campus? Find out about water and the various fish, insects and mammals in and around the Red Cedar River. [204] Diary of a Michigan Kid “Time travel” by asking a kid from many years ago some questions about their life and see just how much language changes over time in a kids vs. grandparents duel of words game. [205] Disney Trivia Test your Disney knowledge through this fun, Jeopardy-style trivia game.
