We have combined the unique Menton Lemon Festival with the Hotel Toscana in vibrant Alassio on the Italian Riviera. Just 80 kms from Menton, this fabulous hotel offers superb value for money and is centrally located a few minutes’ walk from Alassio’s seafront promenade. We also visit Ventimiglia, San Remo, Diano Marina and Cervo.

Day 1 Arrival Day 2 Ventimiglia & San Remo
We enjoy a morning visit to the border town of Ventimiglia and can explore its fantastic market (Fridays only). We then visit elegant San Remo for a stroll along the seafront of this olde world resort. Day 3 Menton Lemon Festival We enjoy a full day at the famous Lemon Festival in the beautiful coastal town of Menton on the French Riviera. This unique event sees the town adorned with artistic and highly imaginative displays constructed from local oranges and lemons and is truly a sight to behold. Day 4 Diano Marina & Alassio This morning we visit the lovely seaside town of Diano Marina, with its charming pedestrianised centre dotted with attractive cafés and shops. We spend the afternoon at leisure in Alassio. Day 5 Cervo After a leisurely morning in Alassio, perhaps enjoying a stroll along the seafront promenade, we visit the pretty hilltop town of Cervo, where we admire spectacular views over the surrounding coastline and Mediterranean Sea.

This friendly and superbly run hotel provides a very warm welcome and boasts excellent food. Situated in the centre of town, only a 5-minute walk from the seafront and lively promenade, the Toscana could not enjoy a better location. Day 1 Arrival Day 2 Riva del Garda Driver’s Day Off We explore the lakeside resort of Riva del Garda today, with its shops, bars and restaurants. We may also wish to take the ferry to Limone or Malcesine. Day 3 Sirmione & Trattoria Da Arturo We enjoy a scenic drive down the east coast of the lake, stopping for coffee in Garda, to visit the jewel of Lake Garda’s south coast, vibrant Sirmione. After a stroll in this pretty, historic centre, we continue into the countryside behind the lake for a long, relaxing and authentic Italian l unch at Trattoria da Arturo. Day 4 Bolzano & Molveno Today we visit the beautiful region of South Tyrol and its bustling capital, Bolzano, where we have time to enjoy a coffee and a stroll before getting an insight into the iceman ‘Ötzi’ at the fascinating Museum of Archaeology . After free time for some schnitzel and strudel, we head south into the stunning Brenta Dolomites and enjoy a relaxing coffee stop at the scenic lake of Molveno. Day 5 Verona We spend today in Verona, described by the Italians as the greatest of Italy’s smaller cities. Famous as the setting of Romeo and Juliet, we explore the historic Roman amphitheatre, elegant shops and fabulous daily market in Piazza delle Erbe. Day 6 Departure
Day 1 Arrival Day 2 Morainic Hills of Lake Garda Today takes us into the rolling hills behind the lake. We stop at San Martino della Battaglia where we meet our half day step-on guide and visit the Ossuary in the little church, before continuing to the hilltop town of Solferino. From here we continue to the picturesque setting of Borghetto and then travel to Trattoria da Arturo where we have an Italian lunch . Day 3 Gargnano, Villa Bettoni & Salò We enjoy a scenic drive today to the elegant resort of Gargnano where we have free time. Next we embark on a private guided tour of Villa Bettoni and its Italianate gardens. We then enjoy free time for lunch in the beautiful town of Salò. Day 4 Manerba del Garda Driver’s Day Off We spend today at leisure. Day 5 Bergamo & Cascina Carretto Today we head west to the beautiful hilltop town of Bergamo. Accessed by funicular, we enjoy a one-hour guided walking tour of this gorgeous medieval walled centre, before enjoying time at leisure to browse the shops and tuck into some local fayre in one of the many superb eateries. In the afternoon, we continue towards Lake Iseo and the wine growing Franciacorta region. We visit the family-run Cascina Carretto vineyard for a tour and tasting of some of the local wines.
