PACKAGED ITINERARY

Day 1 Arrival We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.

indoor pool, sauna, and steam bath; or discover the pretty resort and the spectacular Ziller Valley as we wish. We may decide to follow some of the many walking trails that weave through the valley and hillsides, scout for souvenirs in the smart shops, or drink in views of the majestic Zillertal Alps that encircle the town at one of the many tempting restaurants or nearby mountain-hut eateries. Day 5 Krimml Waterfalls & Zell am See This morning, we travel to the Krimml Waterfalls via the scenic Gerlos Alpine Road (toll payable locally) and marvel at this natural spectacle. The falls are Europe’s highest and the world’s fifth largest, with a drop of 380 metres. Our journey then continues to the pretty town of Zell am See, nestled on the banks of lovely Lake Zell. Here we enjoy a picturesque 45-minute circular boat cruise and admire the idyllic scenery before wandering through the medieval centre and along the lakeshore. Day 6 Departure After breakfast, we begin our journey home.

Day 2 Tyrolean Farm Museum & Zillertal Railway We start today with a scenic journey from Mayrhofen to the Tyrolean Farm Museum , where 37 reconstructed historic wooden buildings recreate Tyrolean life in pre-industrial times. We explore the huts, which include a blacksmiths, inn and village school, and experience stories and films that bring to life the day-to-day activities of bygone Zillertal. After time in delightful Rattenberg, famous for its glassware, for lunch and shopping, we ride a train along the nostalgic, narrow-gauge Zillertal Railway this afternoon: travelling through glorious scenery from Fugen to Mayrhofen before returning to our hotel. Day 3 Innsbruck Today we visit the Tyrolean capital of Innsbruck, surrounded by the craggy rock pinnacles of the Nordkette mountains. We could choose to take a horse-and-carriage ride through the streets of the old town to admire some of its most important sights, including the Hofgarten, ornate 15th century Golden Roof – designed as a royal box for the Emperor – the Column of Saint Anne and the Triumphal Arch. Day 4 Mayrhofen Driver’s Day Off Today is ours to relax and enjoy beautiful Mayrhofen and the countryside around it. We can enjoy the leisure facilities at our hotel, which include a superb
