warned both Canaan and Israel to turn away from their sin. The love that would allow the cancer of de pravity to spread wouldn’t be right eous love. This is why judgment had to fall upon both the Canaanites who already were in the land and Israel who came into the land under the leadership of Joshua. The writers of the Bible wrote their messages from and about actual settings which can to this moment be researched and checked for accuracy. Another evidential presentation of the accuracy of the Bible’s inspira tion concerns Jesus Christ who ap peared in human history to redeem fallen mankind. The New Testament was written by eye-witnesses. We possess reliable copies of what they really wrote (Luke 1:1-4). It may no longer be fashionable to doubt the actual existence of a person called Jesus of Nazareth, yet many liberal teachers still will not admit that we have reliable, historical information concerning Christ. There’s much talk today about demythologizing Jesus. Such efforts are not new at all. Thomas Jefferson attempted to re veal the principles of Christianity by returning to words of Jesus. He sought to expunge everything that failed to satisfy his own reason. To him Christ was only a human being, a teacher of morals alone. He stripped away from the Bible every thing that seemed to be miraculous. Either we take the whole record at face value, or we’re open to the charge of reading into Scripture what we choose to see, and not what’s actually said (John 21:24- 25). John confirms that he was an eye-witness of Jesus Christ (I John 1 : 1 ) . P art E ighteen J esus C hrist is exactly what He claims to be.
