SEAFOOD PASTA SALAD
All of us, in some way or another, are shaped by technology. Many use phones and laptops for work. Some enjoy playing video games. Others rely on gadgets like Kindles and tablets for entertainment. We are likely guilty of watching too much television or surfing the web a bit longer than we should. While technology is extremely broad and offers many ways to connect, unwind, stay connected and entertained, we continually stay “plugged in” for far too long. Unplugging is a necessity in a world connected via technology and various social platforms — especially when it comes to precious family time. Life is short. Take time to embrace human relationships and connect organically with those who matter the most. If you have children, you know they crave your attention and are intuitive. Young ones pick up cues and know when they don’t have your full attention or are sharing your focus with a laptop or phone. Even if you are hanging out doing nothing, unplugging and being physically and emotionally present is essential. You’ll notice your relationships, attitudes, and happiness are enhanced when you do that. These genuine exchanges improve how we interact with one another. It’s important to carve out time for your loved ones without phones or electronics, especially with summer approaching. Plan a hike, spend time in the backyard, visit the beach, or take a trip to the local zoo or park. There are so many ways to unplug for the day, or just a few hours, to make time for those who matter the most. PUTTING TECHNOLOGY ON THE BACKBURNER HERE’S TO UNPLUGGING!
